Lontong Breakfast #4

Roti canai. One of the favourite food of Malaysian's and also tourists who visit Malaysia. The one I ate on Sunday morning was very nice.I didn't try the roti bom though. My brothers finished it.

And I just realised yesterday's post was my 100th post. Thanks to all of the people who have supported Selangor DP!

Lontong Breakfast #3

After I had finished eating,I looked for some inspirations to take a picture because I was getting bored.Coincidentally, this cat came to our table and looked up at me.It wanted to eat but unfortunately I had finished what I ate, which was roti canai. As it stared at me for a couple of seconds,I got the chance to snap a picture of it and then it turned away.I think I was very lucky on that day.

Lontong Breakfast #1

Today, right after I woke up,my dad said he was bringing us out for breakfast.Usually,I won't go because I'd rather stay at home and eat bread with St. Dalfours jam and watch televeision but today I decided to go out with them.We went to a lontong shop by the side of the road which is only about 10 minutes from home. The picture above shows lontong.Lontong is basically 'nasi impit' which is served with vegetable stew or better known here as 'Sayur Lodeh' and topeed with 'sambal' and toasted coconut or better known here as 'kerisik'.

'Nasi impit' is something like ketupat but now they have the instant ones which only require it to be boiled for a few minutes.Ketupat takes a much more longer time because you have to weave the casing and then fill it up and boil it in a very large pot. That is usually done about 1 week before Hari Raya in my 'kampung',Muar. My grand aunties, who are excellent cooks, takes ketupat orders every Hari Raya,I find their ketupat very nice especially with peanut sauce or better known as 'kuah kacang'.

My brother was slurping the half boiled egg from the bowl when I took this picture. It really looks appetising but I've never been interested in tasting half boiled egg before. What does it taste like?

Kopitiam breakfast #3

The picture shows 'nasi lemak' with chicken rendang.Usually, rendang is eaten with lemang or ketupat during Hari Raya. The basic nasi lemak is served with boiled egg,2-3 slices of cucumber,a bit of nuts and fried anchovies and sambal. The chicken rendang adds more variety to the taste of the nasi lemak.

Kopitiam breakfast #2

The picture shows a typical kopitiam breakfast which is toasted bread with kaya, kopitiam style as well as a cup of 'teh tarik' which is basically tea with condensed milk. The toasted bread's filling is very nice and it has lots of butter in it as well as kaya. The 'teh tarik' has the correct amount of condensed milk so it tastes not too sweet and not too tasteless.

Kopitiam breakfast #1

This morning,my dad decided to bring us to a kopitiam which was opened by one of his close friends. The picture above shows my dad cracking open a half-boiled egg.

The shop is located in Bangi and it is called Bangi Kopitiam.Their slogan is "Let's eat together-gether...".I find it very catchy.
The people who go there are from the elite society of Bangi.By 8 a.m.,there are already about 8 people.Imagine how many people would be there at 10 a.m.?More pictures coming soon,so stay tuned!
