escalators

Went to Great Eastern Mall which is located near Gleneagles Hospital.What I like about Great Eastern Mall is that it is always quiet and not many people go there.The escalators are very high.Yes,they are.When you are at the ground level and you want to go to level 2,there is an escalator to go to that level.I'm scared of it but it really is useful when you dont want to take two escalators up just to get onto the two next floors.

roti canai maker

This is the person who makes the roti canai at Mak Jah's stall.The roti bom he makes is very buttery and very nice.Me and my brother are big fans of the roti bom he makes,but usually I settle down for roti canai.This really is a must try for roti canai fans!

This picture was taken after I took the April DP Theme picture.This boy was fishing at the pond near the monument at the entrance of the zoo.I thought he was doing something else but as I got a closer look,I saw him holding a fishing net in his hand.I think he managed to catch one fish.

This was my very first candid picture.I wanted the boy to look at the camera but as soon as I lifted up the camera he looked in another direction.It's very sweet to see siblings together.I hope they stick together no matter what happens.

Ampang Point,a place where you can find many things and people.Taking about people,I'm doing a people series now.

I was waiting for my mum in the car with my brothers when I spotted two people-a local and probabbly a tourist walking together,discussing.I felt very delighted to see them,who are from different races,talking together in peace.

I'm so happy to post something new after four days of not posting anything up.Well,I do have my reasons:Number 1,internet connection was lost and Number 2,I went back to my hometown because of a family reunion.I was starting to get worried until dad told me our internet connection was available today.Phew,what a relief.

Decided to post our national flower.Spotted it amongst the bougainvilleas.Enjoy.I'll try to check out your blog's in the nearest time.

Was on the way to KL and dad said he spotted a sign which says "If you want to steal thi shouse,please smile because you are now on camera".I laughed when I read the sign.I hope it works to stop thieves from breaking into the house!

The Bakery

Here's another place to get good bread and a good breakfast too!The Bakery is a French bakery which sells freshly made French bread,pasteries,cookies,hot meals and sandwiches and they are all original.None of the bread taste like the ones you buy from Deli France.I like the sun dried tomato bread because when you smell it,it smells like pasta and you can eat it on it's own!Here's the address for everybody out there:

On the roof

Spotted a guy sweeping the falling leaves on the roof of the animal shelter [SPCA].I was shocked to see him on the roof and the question which lingers in my mind is "How did he get up there?".As soon as I spotted the guy on the roof,quickly whipped out mum's camera phone to snap this.I think this is a lucky shot.Click on the picture to see a better view of the guy.Have a great week everybody!

The best breakfast in Ampang

Went to Ampang Jaya for breakfast and went to my mum's all time favourite stall which serves nice roti canai which is made by a Malay.It is amazingly true!It's very hard to find a Malay who can make nice roti canai.The teh tarik is not so sweet and not so plain and the traditional kueh,yummy!So those of you who live in KL or Ampang or if you're planning to visit KL,do stop by at Mak Jah Corner.It is located along Jalan Kerja Air Lama and it is located next to SPCA Ampang.

It has been raining here in Ampang,especially in the evenings.I thought it was supposed to be the dry season here in Malaysia but looks like the rain decided to drop by.If it's God's blessing then thank you God for the rain.I don't think it rains at night because usually if it rains at night here it'll be very cold in the morning.

No devils

"No devil-ing allowed",that's what the sign literally means in the restaurant of Rimba Jimbara.The signs at Rimba Jimbara are wierd and there's one on the toilet door which says "If you're a human,don't act like a baboon" but I didn't bring my camera along [left my camera with my mum].

Mr first impression when I looked at the river was,"Wow,clear waters!" but as soon as I went in,"Wow,rubbish!" but there wasn't a lot of rubbish just a few scraps but still.This river has less rubbish than the one I've seen here at Kemensah.I guess the owner of this place takes good care of it.By the way,this place is called Rimba Jimbara.Rimba means forest and Jimbara is actually a rock group here in Malaysia,so this place belongs to Jimbara but they're not the ones taking care of this place,their close friends help them take care of it.

looking for water

This picture of a root looking for water somehow takes me back to learning Science.Learnt it when I was 10.Plants react to sunlight,water and gravity.I'm sure the root is from the spider looking tree.Quite a long root.

Went to one of the waterfalls in Kampung Kemensah for a family trip and while I was standing on a big rock,looked above me and saw this tree which looked like a spider's web.Luckily my camera was with me so I managed to snap this picture.Any ideas on what the name of this tree is?

I'm still wondering whether this "tow zone" sign fell down because it was rusty or was it because of vandalism.It's just sad to see signs which play a big role and it's already vandalised.I hope the authorities will do something.

This grafiti seems very familiar.There's one on the way to school,another one opposite the school and another one on the main entrance to the zoo.I guess its the same people making the same grafiti.I find it very nice.Have a nice week everyone!

despite the sign which shows no vending at the side of the road,this guy ignored the sign.He sells very nice rojak [mixed fruits with a type of sauce] and he sells fresh fruits to like mangoes,papyas and more.So,if you drop by at the National Zoo here in Ampang, why don't you give it a try at rojak and some other fruits he sells!

Maybe you wonder,"What is that?".It's actually a Kapok tree pod.There are a few trees inside the zoo.The fibre is used for mattress or pillow fillings.Here,they sell Kapok fibre pillows and they are quite expensive because they are hand made.

Zoo Negara;part four

I spotted a woman with a little boy at the entrance of the zoo parking and I was curious of what they were up to. The little boy was pointing out in random directions and I think he pointed at me and the woman spotted me so she tried to get out of my sight,but I still managed to take a picture of her.I just love to take pictures of people together.

I read my comments this morning on yesterday's posting and yes,you guessed it correctly!It's a hippopotamus.It's just a statue so its easier to take a picture of it than having to take a picture of the real live thing in the zoo which would be much harder.

Zoo Negara;part three

There was something like a monument in front of the zoo's entrance,and decided to test you readers out there if you can guess what type of animal there was at the monument.So,any guesses what this is?I'll give you some clues.They are fat,they live in groups,and they spend most of the day in the waters to avoid being hot.Answers are coming up tomorrow.

"No vending at side of the road" that's what the sign says,but on other people's mind "Who cares?".Along the side of the roads,many people open up little stalls which sell fruits,hats or just little souvenirs for people who come to the zoo.I hope you can't spot me in this picture.

Zoo Negara;part one

since the public mailbox which I took a picture of is near our National Zoo,I decided to make a National Zoo series.The zoo is just a 10 minutes walk from my house.The zoo is now 44 years old!It has been there since 1963!But since then,the zoo has improved a lot.Usually during public holidays the National Zoo is visited by tourists and people from around Malaysia.Since this year is the Visit Malaysia year 2007,the prices have been raised.I think they shouldn't have raised the price just because they know that there are much more tourists expected here in Malaysia.

DP Theme Day-Public Mailbox

Finally,went out with dad to hunt a public mailbox around Ampang and luckily,there was one in front of the National Zoo and coincidentally,we live near the National Zoo so it was just a 5 minutes drive!

I just love mail boxes because of the very striking colour which catches people's attention.Unfortunately,with e-mail,posting letters has become outdated so just a few of us without e-mail use snail mail instead to send letters
